Every page below prints the FAA documents it was written from, the date each was read, and what each document says about its own currency. Where a figure is not published — the fee, a pass rate — these pages say so instead of inventing one.
What changed in Part 107 in 2021
Amendment 107-8 rewrote night operations, added four categories of operations over people, and brought in Remote ID. The FAA’s own Remote Pilot Study Guide is dated 2016 and does not cover any of it.
How the Part 107 test is scored
60 questions, 120 minutes, 70% to pass — which is 42 marks. What the Airman Knowledge Test Report actually gives you back, why it is a list of ACS codes, and what it does not tell you.
The Part 107 operating limits
400 feet AGL, 87 knots, 3 statute miles visibility, 500 feet below and 2,000 feet horizontally from clouds — the limits in § 107.51, what each one actually means, and the structure exception.
Part 107 recurrent training
The recurrent knowledge test no longer exists. Aeronautical knowledge recency is maintained with a free online course — ALC-677, or ALC-515 for part 61 holders — every 24 calendar months.
