What this area asks

The largest single source of certain marks on this test, because the answers are written down: they are in the regulation, they are numeric, and they do not depend on judgment. Registration, the operating limits, who may manipulate the controls, what has to be reported and when, the four categories of operations over human beings, and Remote ID. Almost every question in this area has a section number behind it, and every explanation here gives you that number.

Frequently asked

How many regulations questions are on the Part 107 test?
The FAA publishes a band rather than a fixed count: Appendix 1 of the Airman Certification Standards gives Regulations 15–25% of the test. On a 60-question test that is roughly 9 to 15 questions; the full-length mock on this site deals 12.
Is this set timed?
Not on this page. These sets are for learning the area — each answer comes with an explanation, the ACS code and the document the fact came from. The full-length mock runs the real clock: 60 questions in 120 minutes.
Are these real questions from the FAA test?
No. The FAA’s item bank is confidential and nobody outside the agency has it. Every question here is original, written to the published format — three options, one correct response — and every one carries the ACS element it tests and the document its facts came from.
